Not only is Dorset a rural gem – it is also bursting with history and culture: Thomas Hardy country, the Tolpuddle Martyrs and the Jurassic coastline, just for starters.
This is no village
The watery highway that is the North Atlantic: you can fly over it in five hours or so OR you can take 7 days on the Cunard Queen Mary 2 as my husband and I did in September. This is a very mid-century way to travel and such a contrast to the airport/plane routine and all that stress and lost luggage!
Back from the seas
I was on a trip to visit my family in England, but the twist in the tale was that I crossed the Atlantic on the Cunard Queen Mary 2. That was a posh adventure with memories of my Grandy
A shiny new kid in town
Banff, like any self-respecting tourist destination has some really neat shops and stores. And because the scenery is so spectacular we would love to take a bit of it home. And this we can do with paintings and photographs. This is where the new art kid comes in.

We are just over a long weekend and I am bushed, all in, done for, whacked..However, it was not just any old long weekend, this is the time for the annual Regatta at Seba Beach Summer Village where we have our cottage.
Camino Confused
These past months I have seen photos and notices about the crowds setting out on the Camino Frances. This means that just launching out into the blue skies, green forests and along winding paths has become a great challenge. Now I see that pilgrims book their hostels for the night and many have their packs transported. This is obviously comforting, but do you go on a pilgrimage to have comfort?
