Camino Portugués on my horizon
It will be a first for me to Portugal. This route was not on my radar, but a Camino friend invited me to join her, and then it just seemed, indeed, the right thing to do and place to go.
End of the world – back to front.
How exciting for me to see how Finisterre, a Camino pilgrim destination, is also a point that joins together the great bracelet of the around-the-world race. Not the end of the world, but nearly the end of this mighty Vendée Globe race for these courageous skippers.

Is the goal the way?
So, was writing the book the achievement rather than the book in my hand or on my e-reader? Does getting to Santiago as the destination of the Camino overshadow all the kilometres and walking and the heart and effort that went into it?
Holy Week, Semana Santa on the Camino
Holy Week is a busy time in church-land and an even busier time in Spain. And I think one of the most wonderful times to be on the Camino.

The bus driver stopped, opened the door, and sang out “Somport”! It was desolate. “Where is the path – dondé es el Camino?” I spluttered. He waved gaily over the road railing towards a cliff; was that a malicious smile?
Give me that lower bunk!
Let me hasten to say it is great to be back on the Camino, but it is quite tough. I am out of my comfort zone, and that is not a bad thing, and especially invigorating!
