My walking adventure on the Camino de Santiago gave me a perfect setting for a novel that was nesting away in my heart and my mind for quite a while. So I launched my long-suffering hero and heroine, Bob and Brigit, along the trail to sort out their lives. Lives that they had managed to screw up with some disastrous financial investments along with other not very wise moves that stemmed from that.
I so enjoyed writing the book: I enjoyed doing the research. I enjoyed going over my note book and my photos. Then I enjoyed doing the revisions and the editing. In fact I could have just kept on fiddling around with it, it was like walking the Camino except no sore feet and I got to sleep in my own bed at night.
The time came when I faced the fact that I needed to move forward. My writing friends all told me the same thing “Get an editor”. So I did, it was a good experience and I will post about that experience soon.
